Kelly Cleary O.D.

Dr. Kelly Cleary is a native of Covington, GA, and moved to Albany in the spring of 2013 after earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Georgia.She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2017. She is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Cleary is married to her high school sweetheart, Ben Cleary, who works at Keystone Foods in Camilla. They attend Greenbriar Church and enjoy working in the yard, snow skiing, and cheering on the Dawgs every football season.
The Cleary’s feel blessed to call Albany their home, and Dr. Cleary is very excited to provide eye care to the wonderful residents of Southwest Georgia.


Matt Harper O.D.

Dr. Matt Harper joined Albany Eye Care in 2009 after earning his Doctor of Optometry at University of Alabama School of Optometry. Before earning his doctorate, Dr. Harper attended Valdosta State University where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in biology. Following completion of the doctorate program at UAB, Dr. Harper received further residency training in ocular disease at W.W. Hastings Indian Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma before moving home to south Georgia. Dr. Harper concentrates his vision care on ocular disease, contact lens care and pediatrics. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.

While attending school in Valdosta Dr. Harper met his wife, Tiffany, who is a registered nurse at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital SICU. When he isn’t caring for southwest Georgians’ vision, Dr. Harper actively spends his time running, biking, playing basketball, and spending time with his wife and four sons Payton, Brady, Cruz, and Steele.


Joseph Taylor Prchal, O.D.

Dr. Taylor Prchal (Per-hall), an Albany native, attended high school at Deerfield-Windsor College Preparatory School. After graduation, Dr. Prchal enrolled in Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and spent much of his time volunteering as a Young Life leader at a local high school and worked summers as a waterfront intern at one of Young Life’s summer camps. Following in his parents footsteps, Dr. Prchal went on to graduate from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee earning his Doctorate of Optometry, the sixth in his family to do so.

While in Memphis, Dr. Prchal met his wife, Claire, a native of Spartanburg, SC and physical therapist.  After residing in Charleston, the Prchals moved to Albany in 2012 and have since been blessed with two daughters.  When Dr. Prchal is not practicing optometry, he spends time with Claire and his little ones, is an active partner at Greenbriar Church and enjoys cooking, cycling and growing vegetables. Dr. Prchal is an active member of the Georgia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, a supporter of Flint River Habitat for Humanity, Downline Minstries, Albany Museum of Art, Young Life, The Albany Theatre and The Anchorage.

 

 


Gerald “Jerry” Prchal, O.D. Retired

After attending the University of Nebraska, Dr. Jerry Prchal earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1979. While in Memphis, he met his future wife and fellow classmate, Dr. Sue Prchal.

Following graduation, Dr. Prchal moved to southwest Georgia where he practiced optometry with Dr. Sue’s father, Dr. Earl Taylor, at the family business in Blakely, which began in 1948. In 1984, the Drs. Prchal established Albany Eye Care, where Dr. Jerry concentrates on medical eye care, contact lens evaluations, glaucoma diagnosis and therapy, pre- and post-cataract surgical care and vision correction.

In addition to caring for the vision of patients in southwest Georgia, Dr. Prchal has been a leader in the Georgia Optometric Association, serving as the State President, District President and Trustee. Dr. Prchal has served on the GOA Legislative Committee and as a representative to the Medicare and Medicaid Carrier Advisory Committee.

In 2011 Dr. Prchal was appointed by Governor Deal to the State Board of Optometry and is the current Vice President of the board

Dr. Prchal is an avid community supporter and has also served southwest Georgia as Board President for the Flint River Habitat for Humanity for 2 terms.

Now that Dr. Prchal has stepped down from practicing he enjoys traveling, photography,hiking and time with his grandchildren.


Sue Prchal, O.D. Retired

Before graduating from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Sue Taylor Prchal attended Emory at Oxford and the University of Georgia, where she earned a B.S. in microbiology. Upon returning to her hometown of Blakely she began practicing optometry in Blakely and Donaldsonville before co-founding Albany Eye Care.

Dr. Prchal is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. Also a dedicated community supporter, she has served as a member of the Albany Symphony Guild and the Charity League of Albany. Since opening Albany Eye Care in 1984, Drs. Prchal have resided in Albany, where they have raised their two children Katie and Taylor. While Dr. Sue Prchal no longer examines patients, she is recognized as having cared for many members of our community and being an integral part of our practice’s foundation and growth


Amanda, Ophthalmic Assistant  IMG_8841

Amanda joined Albany Eye Care in 2007, where she assists the doctors by performing preliminary and specialized testing, scheduling patients and contact lens prescribing and ordering. To benefit the patients of Albany Eye Care, Amanda has completed Cooper Vision Online Training.


Desiree, Ophthalmic Assistant

Desiree joined our team in 2014 to assist our doctors in patient care. Desiree brings her passion in caring for others. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.


Lisa, Ophthalmic Assistant 

Lisa joined the Vision Source team in April 2016 as a Doctor’s Assistant. Lisa also works in our Camilla office.She is responsible for assisting the doctors in making sure the patients are taken care of properly. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. She also enjoys painting and going to the beach.


Brittney, Ophthalmic Assistant

Brittney joined the Vision Source team in July 2016 to assist our doctors in patient care. Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids. She also likes to travel in her spare time.

 

 


Katie, Ophthalmic Assistant

Katie Joined the Vision Source Albany team in the fall of 2016 . She assists our doctors in the Albany and Blakely offices, and enjoys interacting with patients. Katie loves helping our patients, and hopes her sunny disposition will help brighten someone’s day. In her spare time , she enjoys getting pedicures with her daughter, going to the beach, fishing, cooking, shopping and singing.


Heather, Ophthalmic Assistant 

Heather started in April of 2017.She spends a lot of her time with her husband and two sons and husband. Heather has three years experience in the field of eye care. Working on COA certified in becoming more educated in the field of eye care.


Jayme, Insurance Specialist

Jayme began working at Vision Source in April 2015.  She is responsible for processing medical and vision insurance claims and payments. In addition, she maintains insurance accounts. When she’s not at work, she enjoys PC gaming, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband, their cats and family


Becky, Insurance SpecialistIMG_8821

Becky joined the Vision Source team in May 2016 and has 11 years of experience in eye care. She is responsible for working with medical and vision insurance. She also maintains our patient accounts.  In her free time she enjoys  reading and hanging out with her family.


Kristen, Scheduling Coordinator

Kristen joined our team in the summer of 2012. While in the office or calling on the phone, you will find her scheduling and confirming your appointment.  Kristen also works at the front desk to start and finish your visit to our office.  While not at work Kristen enjoys reading, household projects and watching movies.


Raeanne, Scheduling Coordinator

Rae joined the Vision Source team in May 2014. She is responsible for confirming and scheduling your appointment. You will see her in both Albany and Camilla locations assisting at the front desk. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her cat.

 


Cadie, Patient Care Representative

Cadie joined the Vision Source Team in January of 2017. She has an Associates in Business Administration and is currently working on a bachelor’s in Office Administration and Technology. In her free time, Cadie enjoys reading,writing, cooking and spending time with her friends, family and two cats.


Corinne, Patient Care Representative

Corinne joined our Vision Source team in April of 2017. She has a lot of experience with marketing and public relations.In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids.


 Meagan, Office Administrator (Camilla)

Meagan joined our team as a doctor’s assistant in 2014. Since then , she has transitioned to the Office Administrator in our Camilla location where she is dedicated to providing our patients with exceptional customer service! Outside the office, Meagan enjoys spending time with friends, family and creating DIY Projects.


Michelle, Office Administrator (Blakely)

Michelle joined our team in 2016. Michelle takes pride in assisting our patients with all of their eye care needs. Outside of the office, you can find her enjoying any outdoor activities, having cookouts and spending time with her family.


Casey, Lab Technician/Optical Dispenser

In early 2014, Casey joined the Vision Source Albany team as our receptionist and has since transitioned to the Lab Technician. With her cheerful spirit and smile, she welcomes you to our office and assists in all areas to ensure you receive extraordinary care and service. Outside the office, Casey enjoys the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and visiting Disney as often as she can.


Anita, Optical Dispenser

In 1988, Anita began her work at Albany Eye Care as a certified lab coordinator. Since April of 2015 she moved to Frame and Sales Coordinator. Anita earned her certification in laboratory operations from the Essilor Laboratory in St.Petersburg,Fl. She helps with frame styles and lens needs for every stage of the patients lifestyles. Anita also maintains the frame inventory. Anita’s enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her family.


Logan, Optical Dispenser 

Logan joined the Vision Source Albany team in November 2014. He is currently finishing an apprenticeship to become a certified licensed dispensing optician. He works exceptionally well with patients helping to find the perfect glasses or finding solutions to eyeglass problems.When Logan isn’t helping the community with visual clarity he enjoys a wide variety of activities from gaming and guitars to fishing and beach get-a-ways.


Alexis, Optical Dispenser

Alexis joined the Vision Source team in May 2017. She has been making patients smile for over five years now. She enjoys helping patients find their perfect frame for their prescription glasses. In her free time she enjoys enjoys going to church and spending time with friends and family.
